Overview
UCAA has always received reports from ATC personnel indicating the receipt of transmissions considered spurious at Entebbe International Airport during active air – ground VHF communication sessions. These are typically burst transmissions with not many but certainly existent instances of durations lasting at least thirty (30) minutes. It required a system which could which could detect, identify, locate and map the position of the source of RFI (Radio Frequency Interference).
UCAA contracted Pureflex Systems Ltd to execute this project which involved installation, configuration, testing, Training and Commissioning of Radio Frequency Interference Detection System (RFID).
